Theo Gobat and his family have been pioneers of St. Lucian and Caribbean tourism over the past 30 years. Theo and Helen are originally from the UK and Australia, 2 of their 3 sons were born here and all have a strong allegiance to St Lucia. Theo successfully developed, operated and owned various hotels in St. Lucia, Antigua, Barbados, Kenya and Mexico. Originally a Chartered accountant, with an advertising background, Theo is a strong marketeer, and is well known and respected in the Caribbean tourism sector.

The Gobat family believe that a hotel / resort experience should offer guests a home from home, a special and personalised experience, and a place they wish to come back to many times. It was not until 1989 that they found the perfect site for their home, Saman House, facing west, on the Caribbean Sea with unbroken sea views. This is the site they will share with owners at Cap Maison.
